As principal of Riggs & Co, Herbert has established an award-winning real estate practice with vision that pays attention to detail and provides extraordinary intelligent advice.  At Riggs & Co, we understand that a home is where you create memories, build families and live your dreams. As Real Estate Fiduciaries, we are dedicated to putting you at the center of the process, delivering superior service with insight, innovation, honesty and integrity.  We have earned the reputation of providing prompt, personal, effective attention with the devotion and flexibility that every consumer should expect.  
 
In addition, We bring over 15 years of applied legal, finance and negotiation training into each transaction.  Herbert has a BA & JD from Brigham Young University; an MS in Finance from Johns Hopkins University; and a Certificate Degree in Negotiations from Harvard.  With this background, we help clients develop a real estate strategy to ensure you enter negotiations from a position of strength, safety and confidence--cutting through complex issues to guide decisions with professionalism and focus. 
 
Born in Maine Herbert has been a Virginia resident since 1995.  When Herbert is not working, he will be enjoying time with his wife, Jenna and their four children. Family provides the "Why" in his life. His passions are baseball (Go Nats), reading and sailing.
 
Herbert is honored to be ranked as one of America's Best Agents by Real Trends and the Wall Street Journal.  He is ranked among the top 1.5% of all agents nationwide and the top 1% in Virginia.  Herbert has been recognized by the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine from 2018-2023 as a "Top Producing Agent".  He is a member of the NVAR Platinum Club and Top Agent Network.
 
Several of our clients are employed by the government, including many who are moving to the area because of transfers.  We often receive referrals from past-clients within the FBI, the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO), the United States Air Force, and the Department of Defense (DOD).
